Karl Nastrom is a Capricorn sun, Scorpio moon, Gemini rising, making him one of millions of people who is perhaps the only person on the planet capable of certain achievements.

He began writing at around age 10 or 11 but destroyed most of his early work to prove a point he has long since forgotten—certainly not the only regrettable decision he made at that age.

As an adult, aside from five years spent teaching high school math in Mississippi and Maryland, he has made his living through writing, one way or another, first as an Air Force intelligence officer stationed overseas and then as an attorney in Alabama, California, and Minnesota.

He received his creative writing training at Newcastle University, England, where the tides—not a twice-daily flood—make the River Tyne rise and fall so precipitously. Karl did not know that at first. It was alarming.

Karl presently lives and writes in Minneapolis. His goal as a resident is to move to Saint Paul; his goal as a writer is to create stories that he understands and others enjoy.
